Born on September 30, 1958 in the village of Gatsuk, Slutsk district, Minsk region. Graduated from the Belarusian Agricultural Academy. He worked as a tractor driver, head of the production site, foreman of the brigade, fodder production specialist, chief agronomist of the state farm "50 years of the BSSR" in the Slutsk region, chief agronomist of the state farm "Slutsk" in the Slutsk region, chairman of the collective farm "Belarus" in the Slutsk region, director of the Slutsk bakery plant.
He was the chairman of the Molodechno regional executive committee, deputy chairman of the Minsk regional executive committee, deputy chairman of the Minsk regional executive committee - chairman of the committee on agriculture and food, general director of the Dzerzhinsky agricultural complex.
In 2012-2019, he served as Minister of Agriculture and Food.
He was awarded the medal "For Labor Merit", the Order of Honor and the Order of the Fatherland of the 3rd degree.
Until March 21, 2022, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic.
