Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia are elected for five years on the basis of a majority system according to party lists and general, equal and direct elections by free, personal and secret ballot. A person who has reached the age of 25, has been a citizen of the Republic of Armenia for the last five years, has been resident in the Republic for five years and has the right to vote, can be elected a deputy.​​
