On November 16, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) celebrates its 19th anniversary.
The Parliamentary Assembly was formed in 2006 with the aim of developing interparliamentary cooperation among the CSTO Member States, strengthening the legal framework of collective security and promoting integration processes in the Eurasian space.
Over the years, the Assembly has proven itself as a credible interparliamentary platform that contributes to improving the effectiveness of cooperation between the national parliaments of the Member States while being active on the international stage.
Since its establishment, the Assembly has adopted about a hundred model laws and recommendations aimed at ensuring security.
In addition to its legislative work, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly monitors the military and political situation in the region and observes joint exercises of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CSTO Troops).
Representatives of the CSTO PA participate in monitoring presidential and parliamentary elections at the invitation of the authorized bodies of the Organization's Member States.
