On October 25, Kazakhstan celebrates Republic Day. It marks the anniversary of the 1990 adoption of its Declaration on State Sovereignty. The document was a pivotal step that set the groundwork for political and economic development of the modern Kazakh state.
A key ally within the CSTO, Kazakhstan continuously makes a significant contribution to strengthening the regional security architecture and maintaining stability and peace across Eurasia.
At the Republic Day ceremony, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that this day "started a new era in the nation's history, the beginning of the country's independent development."
"Historical justice prevailed, and a solid foundation for independence was laid on our sacred land. It is no exaggeration to say that this day marked the revival of the tradition of statehood in the Great Steppe," the President stated.
