Russia celebrates Navy Day on July 30. This holiday was officially established in 1939.
Navy Day is celebrated not only by the military, but also by all those who guard the sea borders of the state, ensure the combat readiness of ships and individual parts of the fleet.
Mass events on Navy Day will be held in Russia’s port cities: St Petersburg, Sevastopol, Kronstadt, Vladivostok, Astrakhan, Kaliningrad, Novorossiysk, Severomorsk and others.
St Petersburg, the maritime capital of Russia, will hold a navy parade in which ships of the Northern, Pacific, Baltic and Black Sea fleets will take part. This year 33 ships and boats, 4 submarines, 8 sailing ships will take part in the parade.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the Navy Day celebrations in St Petersburg.
The festive day will culminate in a colorful fireworks display.
