On November 4, Russians celebrate People's Unity Day.
Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, together with representatives of religious denominations, public and youth associations, laid flowers at the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky on Red Square.
Today, the Russian leader will present state awards and prizes for contributions to strengthening national unity. Among those being honored are leaders of public and religious organizations, entrepreneurs and foreign cultural figures.
Vladimir Putin is also expected to visit the Orthodox Russia – The National Unity Day Forum and Exhibition at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall. At the Forum, the President will be introduced to the work of the Christian Kindness charity foundation and visit the exhibition "The Great Victory. Russia – My History", dedicated to the heroism of the peoples of the USSR in the fight against fascism.
