May 9 Is Victory Day in CSTO Member States

Today, on 9 May, the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are celebrating the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.  

Leaders of the CSTO countries congratulated veterans and citizens, emphasizing the unbreakable bond between generations.

Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia:

"Today we bow our heads in memory of all the heroes who gave their lives to save humanity from fascism. We pay tribute to all the nations and people who fought against fascism."

 Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus:

"I believe that the truth about the Great Victory will continue to be the sacred moral truth that binds generations, defines values, unites people and inspires creativity."

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan:

"It is our sacred duty to explain the true meaning of heroism to the future generations."

Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan:

"This day always serves as a reminder of the value of peace and our pride in the victory, because millions of people, our fathers and mothers, gave their lives for this victory. That is why May 9 is not just a milestone in history, but a memory shared by the entire nation."

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia:

"It was the Soviet people who made the decisive contribution to defeating Nazism, saved their country and saved the world."

Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan:

“Defending the Motherland, strengthening national unity, peace and political stability are the sacred and honorable duties of every conscientious citizen."
