Alisher Erbayev to Coordinate the Group of Observers from the CSTO PA at the Elections in Belarus

Alisher Erbayev, a member of the Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, will be the coordinator of the group of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly at the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 8th convocation and local Councils of Deputies of the 29th convocation.

Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, received a letter signed by Natalia Kochanova and Vladimir Andreichenko, the heads of both chambers of the Belarusian Parliament, inviting the CSTO PA observers to take part in monitoring the parliamentary elections in Belarus.

At the moment, a group of observers has been formed from representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States and officials of the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly.

As you may recall, the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus is elected every 5 years. The same period is reserved for the mandates of Deputies of local Councils. And if earlier elections to the Parliament and local Councils were held at different dates, this year will be the first time that they are held on the same day — on February 25.
