On February 25, international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly followed the electoral process in Minsk.
Alisher Erbayev, Head of the observer group, noted that the elections were held in a friendly and positive atmosphere and met national and international standards.
"I can say that the elections are democratic and are held in compliance with all norms, standards and electoral legislation of Belarus," Mr. Erbayev emphasized.
The voter turnout at the elections of Deputies on a single voting day amounted to 72.98% of the total number of voters from the voting lists.
According to the preliminary results of the elections, all 1284 local Councils were formed in a legally competent composition, all 110 deputies of the House of Representatives were elected.
