At a Meeting with Ambassador Safarzoda, Andreichenko Noted the Effectiveness of the Friendship Groups of Belarus and Tajikistan
Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, met with Bakhtovar Safarzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus.
The Head of the House of Representatives congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and noted that this was not their first meeting, as Bakhtovar Safarzoda was a long-time friend and partner, known in Belarus as the plenipotentiary representative of the Parliament of Tajikistan in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
“There is no doubt that your appointment will contribute to the active development of Belarusian-Tajik relations. A strong foundation has already been laid, we enjoy already-established friendship and cooperation. Of course, the heads of state play central part in these relations. Our governments and parliament work productively,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives also noted productive regular work of the friendship groups of Belarus and Tajikistan on inter-parliamentary cooperation. Parliamentarians of Belarus and Tajikistan closely cooperate and interact bilaterally and within international organizations. He called promotion of the implementation of the 2022–2026 Bilateral Cooperation Roadmap, signed by the heads of the two states in Dushanbe, a promising area of this work.
In turn, the Ambassador of Tajikistan emphasized the importance of the parliamentary dimension of bilateral cooperation in interstate relations.
“Almost all our positions coincide. Both within the CIS IPA and the CSTO PA, we represent one big CIS family. As far as lawmaking and adoption of model legislation are concerned, we share our stance,” Bakhtovar Safarzoda said.
As you may recall, the head of the friendship group of Belarus and Tajikistan is Oleg Belokonev, Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives.
