At the Council meeting and the 16th plenary session of the CSTO PA in Moscow, Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, noted that the analytical component of CSTO’s activities had enjoyed particular development during Belarus’ presidency in the Organization.
Vladimir Andreichenko summed up the results of the implementation of the priorities of Belarus’ 2023 CSTO presidency.
“During the year, various meetings were repeatedly held with the participation of the expert community of national think tanks both in Minsk and in the capitals of other Member States of the Organization. This made it possible to establish close contacts between the relevant entities, to start work on involving more of them in the study of collective security issues and joint search for effective solutions to current challenges and threats,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.
He stressed that the development of model laws and recommendations by the Assembly contributes to the unification of national laws, application of common methods in assessing modern threats and approaches to the choice of ways to address them.
In addition to the results of the Belarusian presidency, the meeting also announced the priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan for its upcoming 2024 CSTO presidency.
