Astana Votes in State Duma Elections: CSTO PA Observer Oljas Quspekov Shares His Impressions
Voting for the election of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 9th convocation is taking place in Kazakhstan. For Russian citizens residing in or visiting the Republic, eight polling stations have been set up in six locations: Astana, Almaty, Uralsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktau, and Priozersk.
Voting is well underway. Among those who have cast their ballots are Alexey Borodavkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Alexander, Metropolitan of Astana and Kazakhstan.
Oljas Quspekov, an international observer from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and a member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Energy of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, monitored the voting process at the polling station located at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (Russian House) in Astana.
"As part of the international observation of the elections for the State Duma of the Russian Federation, I visited the polling station located at Kenesary Street 39, Astana, organized by the Russian Consulate in Kazakhstan. On site, I familiarized myself with the organization of the electoral process, the voting conditions and the work of the election commission. The observation was conducted within the scope of an international observer's authority and in line with official procedures. No violations have been detected. During the visit, I also met with Alexey Borodavkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan," Oljas Quspekov shared.
