Chingiz Aidarbekov: Elections are calm and orderly
Chingiz Aidarbekov, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, notes the calm, business-like atmosphere during the voting in Belgrade. “On the whole, what we are observing is that the elections are taking place in a very calm and orderly manner. In essence, I personally have no major reservations about the ongoing elections. Everything is very competitive,” said Chingiz Aidarbekov.
The international observer of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly especially drew attention to the fact that during the election campaign all parties involved were given the opportunity to inform voters about their election platform, so everything is based on a competitive environment “and the principles of democracy are respected, of course.”
“I would like to note that for our delegation, from the CSTO PA, this is the first mission like this in Serbia. It makes our visit unique.
It is evident that the country’s leadership pays great attention to international observers. We had important meetings, starting from the highest political leadership of the country: together with IPA CIS mission we met with Mr Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia; Mr Dačić, Serbian Parliament Speaker; Mr Dimitrijević, Foreign Minister; with the Chairperson of the Republican Electoral Commission, political scientists and observers from other international missions.
“I think the level of organization of the elections is rather high. I hope that by the end of the day we will be able to cover many polling stations,” said Chingiz Aidarbekov, informing that observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will prepare a joint final document based on the results of the monitoring.
