On March 19, at the 1st session of Tajikistan's Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the 7th convocation, Faizali Idizoda was unanimously elected as Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon.
The parliamentarians also elected his deputies: Shermuhammad Shohiyon as first deputy Speaker and Aziz Giyozoda and Mavsuma Muini as deputy Speakers.
Prior to taking the post, Faizali Idizoda has served as Head of State Building and Local Self-Government Committee.
Addressing the parliament, Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, urged the deputies to make efforts to implement their election programs and strive for reaching the country's strategic goals.
He noted that the new parliament is comprised of scientists, lawyers and economists, industrialists and specialists in such fields as science, education, healthcare, agriculture, energy and construction, as well as representatives of other professions.
Emomali Rahmon encouraged the deputies to take the lead in all the social and political events as well as good and productive activities, to show high level of political culture and to set an example in upholding the law and being loyal to the Fatherland and the people of Tajikistan.
