On September 1, Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic received in Bishkek Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, during his two-day working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, according to the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
During the meeting, the CSTO Secretary General reported on preparations for the upcoming regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council to be held in Dushanbe on September 15–16 and a joint session of the CFM, CMD and CSSC. He also briefed the President on the situation in the CSTO zone of responsibility.
During his working visit, Stanislav Zas met with Marat Imankulov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Ruslan Kazakbaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In the coming hours the CSTO Secretary General is also scheduled to meet with Major General Taalaibek Omuraliev, Minister of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As you may recall, currently the Kyrgyz Republic is completing preparations for Rubezh 2021, a joint exercise of Collective Rapid Deployment Force of Collective Security Treaty Organization. Its active phase will be held on September 7–9 at the Edelweiss high-altitude training ground in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Soldiers of the mountain motorized rifle detachment of the Central Military District (CMD) of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, stationed in the Republic of Tyva, have already arrived to the Edelweiss training ground in Issyk-Kul oblast of the Kyrgyz Republic for joint exercise with the Rapid Deployment Collective Force of the CSTO Central Asian region of collective security on September 7–9. This was reported by the Information Department of the Central Military District of the Russian Defence Ministry.
To take part in the exercise, the troops marched on foot and by transport from their home station in Kyzyl to the loading station in Abakan. Then, after reloading military equipment onto railway platforms, the Russian contingent travelled more than 3,000 kilometres to the unloading station in the Kyrgyz Republic. Military contingents from the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan will take part in the exercise.
