CSTO Secretary General and Head of CIS Antiterrorist Centre will strengthen counter-terrorism efforts
Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, met with Yevgeny Sysoyev, Head of the CIS Antiterrorist Centre, to discuss the organizations’ cooperation in countering terrorism and extremism.
According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, and Yevgeny Sysoyev, the new Head of the CIS Antiterrorist Centre, met in Moscow on February 2.
The meeting was attended by Valery Semerikov, deputy Secretary General, Zhanat Saipoldayev, first deputy Head of the CIS ATC and representative of the CIS Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs; Pavel Tikhonov, deputy Head of the CIS ATC and representative of the CIS Council of Defence Ministers; and Aibek Kutmanov, deputy Head of the CIS ATC and representative of the CIS Council of Border Troops Commanders.
“During the meeting the parties exchanged views on trends and the state of the operational environment in the areas of responsibility of the organizations and discussed practical cooperation between the CSTO and the CIS ATC in countering terrorism and extremism,” the press service said.
The CSTO Secretary General and the head of the CIS ATC stressed the importance of consolidating joint efforts in the face of growing terrorist threats and expressed interest in expanding cooperation.
