Mountain units of 201st base in Tajikistan to be trained on a mobile simulator
A mobile simulator for mountain training of military personnel in the field and in their duty stations is delivered to and installed in a Russian military base in Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the Central Military District.
Colonel Igor Sushchev, assistant commander for physical training of the Central Military District (CMD) troops, noted that the simulator is designed to organize combat training of mountain units of forces and formations of the military district. The simulator will be piloted in the Republic of Tajikistan in units that carry out mountain training. It is planned that such equipment will also be supplied to other formations and military units of the Central Military District.
“To develop endurance and coordination, this simulator features a wave-shaped handgrip, a rotating tumbling bar, barbell stations, various beams and a swinging log. All this allows for a comprehensive approach to the training of mountain units personnel, both at permanent duty stations and in the field, due to the fact that the equipment is mobile and can be transported by road and air,” said Igor Sushchev.
The simulator includes a climbing wall, a landing system, landing zones, as well as associated elements required for training of mountain units.
As you may recall, the 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities, Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defence, RCB and communications units.
