The Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization hosted consultations of the CSTO Member States on topical issues of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation
According to the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, delegations of the CSTO Member States; Samat Ordabaev, deputy Secretary General of the CSTO; and staff of the CSTO Secretariat participated in the consultations of the CSTO Member States on urgent issues of arms control and disarmament held on March 15 in Moscow, chaired by the Republic of Armenia.
“A fruitful and detailed discussion took place on topical issues and prospects for the development of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation (ADN). The participants compared their approaches to specific aspects of nuclear arms reduction, compliance with and strengthening of existing international treaties and agreements in the field of the ADN,” the report said.
The participants of the meeting, the Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CSTO Member States to the Organization, reaffirmed the readiness of the Organization’s Member States “to continue collective efforts in order to build an international system of reliable, equal and indivisible security for all, to rebuild confidence and mutual respect in interstate relations, and also to further compare and coordinate their positions on the issues of the ADN in the interest of lasting peace and strengthening international security.”
