Ibrahim Azizi: Iran Welcomes Development of Relations with CSTO PA
At the CSTO PA Council meeting in Minsk, Ebrahim Azizi, representative of the Iranian Parliamentary Commission on Security and Foreign Policy, said that the Organization has a significant role to play in the new system of foreign relations.
“Parliaments play a very important role in the development, strengthening and consolidation of relations between our countries. Joint efforts of states against regional and international crises and issues at various levels can be intensified within the framework of collective interests through the development of parliamentary relations. The Assembly of the Islamic Council of Iran is fully prepared to expand and strengthen regional parliamentary relations and welcomes any constructive initiative in this area,” Mr Azizi noted.
He described expanding relations with countries in the region in all aspects and areas as one of the priorities of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Taking into account the current developments in the region and the world, the current world order will change, and to play a strategic role in this new order, like-minded countries need interaction. The era of unilateralism is over, and today the common interests of our countries and other independent states require closer cooperation to effectively use the capabilities and capacities of regional and international organizations,” the Iranian parliamentarian concluded.
