Igor Sergeyenko: We Are Committed to the Values of the CSTO
Igor Sergeyenko, Сhairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, at the joint meeting of the Council and the 18th plenary session of the CSTO PA in Moscow said that "the parliamentary dimension within the CSTO is becoming increasingly focused in terms of its activities and priorities every year, and the Organization's institutions are improving."
"For almost two decades now, the Assembly has been providing legal support for the collective security system. Despite the rapidly changing processes, which is caused, among other things, by constantly changing geopolitical factors, we are continuous and loyal to the values that lie in the core of the CSTO. The results of the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship of the Organization are the proof of that," Igor Sergeyenko pointed out.
The Belarusian speaker stressed that peace and security are the most important values for people, regardless of where they live.
"The European security model is being replaced by a Eurasian one with a new generation of organizations. In Eurasia, the principles of justice and equality are understood more deeply, and the importance of the indivisibility of security and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries is fully acknowledged," Igor Sergeyenko said.
He stressed that the best choice for humanity is honest and open dialogue, the development of mechanisms and guarantees for collective security, and the formation of a world order with the direct participation of the global majority.
