Kassym-Jomart Tokayev: The main mission of the CSTO peacekeepers in Kazakhstan has been successfully completed
The main mission of the CSTO peacekeeping forces has been successfully completed. In two days, a gradual withdrawal of the CSTO Joint Peacekeeping Contingent will begin. The process will not take more than 10 days. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, announced this today speaking before the Houses of Parliament.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan gave a clear task to law-enforcement agencies. “We must find and punish all militants and their accomplices involved in crimes against civilians. It is critical to deal with those behind the terrorist attacks.
Another important point is why the state has overlooked the existence of sleeper cells of militants and the activities of their command centre. Why have so many illegal weapons and riot control equipment turned up in the territory of our country? Why did intelligence services not identify and neutralize followers of terrorism?”
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that he intends to hold a meeting of the Security Council in the near future, while the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan is expected to present a Government Action Plan.
