Mezentsev: Appropriate Response to Pressure Is Strengthening Defence Potential
Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State, delivered a speech at the high-level international conference Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World, which opened in Minsk.
He said that the process of strengthening the defence capacity of the Union State of Belarus and Russia had no “final frontiers.” Minsk and Moscow continue to respond in a timely manner to the growing challenges and threats in the region.
Mezentsev also stressed that the most important priority was “ensuring the defence capability of the Union State.”
“We see growing pressure to Belarus and Russia, an the appropriate response to it is a calm reaction and strengthening defence capabilities. This is the policy pursued by Russia and Belarus as per the decisions of the presidents of our countries,” said Secretary of State of the Union State.
As you may recall, the proposal to hold such a conference was voiced by Aleksandr Lukashenko in November 2022 at a CSTO summit in Yerevan.
