The 20th meeting of the CSTO Military Council discussed improvement of crisis response measures
According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Army General Valery Gerasimov, Chairman of the Military Committee of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and first deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation, held the 20th meeting of the CSTO Military Committee on April 14 in Moscow.
The meeting was held via videoconference.
The participants exchanged views on the military and political situation in regions of collective security and agreed to coordinate joint actions to neutralize military-security threats. They also decided to follow the proposals voiced by CSTO defence ministers on January 13, 2022 during an extraordinary session of the CSTO Defence Minister Council on improving the crisis response mechanism and organizing the use of the CSTO collective force.
The meeting discussed 2022 joint operational and combat training, identified areas of future work to improve the organization of international flights of CSTO countries’ air force and assessed the work of the Khrulev Military Academy of Material Support as the basic organization for logistics-related training military personnel for CSTO Member States.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Kamo Kochunts, Acting Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia; Major General Viktor Gulevich, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces and first deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus; Lieutenant General Marat Khusainov, first deputy Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Major General Erlis Terdikbaev, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic; Lieutenant General Emomali Sobirzoda, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and first deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan; Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff; and Takhir Khairuloev, deputy Secretary General of the Organization.
