On March 2, 2025, the Republic of Tajikistan will host elections of deputies of the new convocation of Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, has received an invitation to observers from the CSTO Member States to take part in monitoring the elections. The letter was signed by Rustami Emomali and Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, heads of both chambers of the Tajik parliament.
The CSTO PA Secretariat has started to form the monitoring group, including representatives of the parliaments of the CSTO states and officials of the Secretariat of the Assembly.
As you may recall, the Majlisi Namoyandagon consists of 63 deputies. Elections are held by secret ballot on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage. 22 representatives are elected by proportional representation and 41 by single-member districts.
