CSTO PA observers met with the leadership of the CEC of Kazakhstan
Representatives of the mission of international observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization met with the leadership of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to monitor the preparation and conduct of the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Nurlan Abdirov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mukhtar Yerman, Secretary of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, informed the international observers about the course of preparation for the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for November 20, 2022. In particular, they noted that the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be monitored by 641 international observers from 10 organizations engaged in electoral process monitoring and 35 states.
On behalf of the international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Vagharshak Hakobyan, member of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Socioeconomic and Legal Issues, deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Regional Issues and Eurasian Integration, head of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship Between Armenia and Kazakhstan and coordinator of the observer group, noted the high level of preparation of the polling stations and the Central Election Commission’s efficiency in organizing the election campaign in a limited time.
In accordance with the decision of Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Council of the CSTO PA, and at the invitation of Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, on September 24, 2022, the CSTO PA has formed a group of international observers to monitor the preparation and voting at the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Vagharshak Hakobyan, member of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Socioeconomic and Legal Issues, deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on Regional Issues and Eurasian Integration, was appointed as the coordinator of the group of the CSTO PA international observers. The group consists of international observers representing supreme legislative bodies of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.
