On April 27, the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus has ratified the Agreement on Jurisdiction and Provision of Legal Assistance in Cases of Temporary Presence of Formations of the Collective Security System on the Territories of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, BelTA agency reports.
The agreement defines the mechanism of cooperation between the competent authorities of the CSTO Member States, in particular, military police, military investigation, military prosecutor’s office, military courts (tribunals) in criminal and administrative cases against persons belonging to the formations of forces and assets of the collective security system.
Deputies also ratified the Agreement on Joint Logistical and Medical Support of the CSTO Troops (Collective Force).
The document stipulates that the provision of arms, military and special equipment and materiel to the CSTO troops is carried out by the CSTO Member States independently at their own expense in accordance with national laws; using the funds allocated for this purpose within the targeted interstate programmes implemented within the Organization or in a bilateral format; and through military and technical assistance provided by the CSTO Member States to each other in agreed amounts.
The agreements were signed on September 16, 2021 at a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Dushanbe.
