CSTO Parliamentarians Begin Their Work as Polling Stations Open in Astana
On August 23 at 7:00, polling stations opened in Kazakhstan.
At exactly 7:00, to the strains of the Republic's national anthem, the CSTO PA international observer group began its work at the polling station located at the Astana Opera theater.
According to the country's Central Election Commission, a total of 10,423 polling stations are operating in Kazakhstan. 107 polling stations across the country have opened at 6:00. These are primarily the stations located within military units. This will allow personnel who are on guard duty, on watch, carrying out combat missions or serving in restricted areas to cast their ballots.
Based on the results of the monitoring, the CSTO PA observer mission's final report will be compiled and published on the Assembly's website.

For reference. A new legislative body, the Kurultai, will replace Kazakhstan’s bicameral Parliament. It will comprise 145 deputies, each elected for a five-year term. After the elections, the deputies will appoint the Chairman of the Kurultai and three deputy Chairs.
