Dauren Abayev Became Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Russia
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Dauren Abayev, deputy CIS Secretary General, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation.
The newly appointed ambassador Dauren Abayev has held various positions in the Kazakh Foreign Ministry since 2001. Since 2007, he has been working in the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was appointed Press-Secretary, Advisor to the President and first deputy Head of the Executive Office.
He served as Minister of Information and Public Development and Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since January 2020, the post of ambassador was held by Ermek Kosherbayev. In June, he was appointed as akim of East Kazakhstan oblast.
