CSTO CSC Chairman Vladimir Putin Visits Military Exercises at the Chebarkul Training Ground
Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council and President of the Russian Federation, visited the Chebarkul training ground in the Chelyabinsk region to observe the progress of military exercises.
The Center-2026 strategic command-and-staff exercise is taking place at the training ground, coordinated with Vzaimodeistvie-2026 command-and-staff exercise held under the CSTO.
Vladimir Putin spoke with military attachés and inspected the displayed equipment.
The 255th joint-force training ground in Chebarkul is equipped to handle all types of small arms, grenade launchers, tank guns, artillery systems, multiple rocket launchers, unguided and guided missiles, aircraft cannons and dropping of air bombs weighing up to 500 kg.
More than 6,000 servicemen are currently taking part in the exercise (4,600 from Russia and 1,479 from other countries), with more than 600 pieces of equipment in use, including 55 aircraft and helicopters, over 500 UAVs, and more than 50 robotic systems.
As you may recall, CSTO parliamentarians regularly observe the Organization's military exercises. A group of CSTO PA observers has already been formed to monitor the military exercises in mid-October in the Republic of Belarus.
