President of Belarus Stressed the Importance of Maintaining and Strengthening Partnership with Kazakhstan
On February 5, Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, met with Yerlan Koshanov, Speaker of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, who is on an official visit to Minsk. Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, and Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, also took part in the meeting.
"I'd like to ask for one thing—let's not lose each other," said the Belarusian leader. "No country, not even America, can develop in isolation from others. So I suggest that we stay together in this turbulent world."
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Belarus is ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan "in any direction and in any form."
"As for the international agenda and our approaches and views, I think there is absolutely no difference. We see the development of our world in the same way. We believe in multipolarity. We want the new countries that were formed after the collapse of the Soviet Union to be sovereign and independent. You know this very well, as well as your President," said the Belarusian leader.
He expressed gratitude to his Kazakh partners for the long-standing cooperation.
"We appreciate you very much, and we are all well aware that both Kazakhstan and Belarus are members of a number of international organizations. These include regional organizations such as the EAEU, CSTO and CIS, as well as global international organizations such as the UN. Together, we are where we need to be, where our interests are concentrated. It speaks of the same approaches to solving various global and regional problems,"
President of Belarus emphasized. Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he supports maintaining and strengthening of cooperation with Kazakhstan. He noted that he counts on the assistance of parliamentarians and personally of Yerlan Koshanov in promoting cooperation.
