Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived in the Russian capital on Sunday at the invitation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. It is his first foreign trip after his inauguration in Astana on November 26.
The two presidents are scheduled to meet on Monday. The heads of state will also attend the Forum of Kazakhstan – Russia Interregional Cooperation.
Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will discuss the prospects of Russian-Kazakh relations and cooperation within the framework of integration associations.

Diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan were established on October 22, 1992. Bilateral ties and cooperation are governed by an extensive legal treaty base. Over 400 treaties and agreements have already been signed.
