Russian and Tajik presidents discussed preparations to the CSTO summit in Dushanbe
Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, according to the kremlin.ru website.
According to the press service of the President of the Russian Federation, the parties exchanged their detailed views on the situation in Afghanistan, stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of civilians and the earliest normalization of the situation in that country in the interests of maintaining stability in the region and agreed to maintain regular contacts between the concerned agencies of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan. Since the Republic of Tajikistan chairs both the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2021, the preparations for the upcoming CSTO and SCO summits to be held in Dushanbe were discussed.
