Putin and Lukashenko Discussed the Agenda of the Union State and Security

On June 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, who arrived in Russia on a working visit.

The heads of state held a tête-à-tête meeting at Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai. They discussed regional security and economic and trade cooperation, according to Dmitry Peskov, the Russian leader's press secretary. Peskov stated that the agenda of the Union State was among the current issues.

As a reminder, the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia opened in Minsk on June 25, where the parliamentary leaders of the two countries spoke.

The Chairman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, Natalia Kochanova, emphasized the historical depth and inviolability of the Belarusian-Russian integration, which grew out of common traditions, cultural values, and the sacred memory of the Great Patriotic War.
