Putin and Tokayev Signed a Declaration on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
On November 12, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, who is in Moscow on a two-day state visit, held talks in the Kremlin.
The Kazakh leader called the state visit to Russia the main event of the year.
During the open part of the official talks, Vladimir Putin accepted Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's invitation to visit Kazakhstan next year.
The leaders also discussed the development of bilateral relations and joint projects.
"Our relations with Kazakhstan are developing steadily. <...> Kazakhstan and Russia are close partners, friends and reliable allies to each other. It has been confirmed in practice," Vladimir Putin pointed out.
The Russian leader also announced an upcoming meeting with his counterpart in Bishkek at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
"We communicate regularly, and we're to meet again at the CSTO forum in Bishkek," Vladimir Putin said.
In addition, the leaders of the two countries addressed the participants of the plenary session of the 21st Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan via videoconference.
A ceremonial signing of the Declaration on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries also took place in the Kremlin.
