Putin Thanks Japarov for Promoting the Russian Language in Kyrgyzstan

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, expressed his gratitude to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov for promoting the Russian language in the Republic.

"We greatly appreciate the attention you've given to promoting the Russian language, which holds official status in the Republic," noted the Russian President.

He pointed out that in 2023, Russia and Kyrgyzstan began building nine secondary schools where lessons are taught in Russian.

According to Vladimir Putin, more than 10,000 Kyrgyz citizens are currently studying at Russian universities. Another 8,500 students are studying at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Bishkek.

As you may recall, according to Article 28 of the Charter of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Russian is the official language of the Organization.
