Putin Congratulated Tokayev on the Ruling Party’s Win in the 1st Kurultai Elections
Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Collective Security Council, congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, on the victory of the ruling Adilet party in the country's first-ever unicameral parliamentary elections.
In his congratulatory note, Putin stressed the importance of this win for the further development of democracy and political stability in Kazakhstan.
Russian President emphasized that the current elections are an important step towards strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation. Other leaders of CSTO and CIS countries also extended their congratulations to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noting the significance of this outcome for the entire region.
As you may recall, CSTO PA observers were actively monitoring the Kurultai elections. The elections met international standards and contributed to strengthening democratic institutions in Kazakhstan, the Final Report published on the Assembly’s website reads.
