The Russian Federation continues to assist in the modernization of Tajikistan’s armed forces according to the plans and deadlines in place.
According to TASS, Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, said this on Wednesday, May 19, following talks with his Tajik counterpart Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin.
“We have reviewed the implementation of agreements on cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres, including Russia’s assistance in modernizing Tajikistan’s Armed Forces,” he said. “We agreed to continue implementing the plans in full and under the agreed timeframes,” Mr Lavrov said.
According to Sputnik Tajikistan, the Russian Federation is ready to help the Republic of Tajikistan in view of the intensification of international terrorism in northern Afghanistan. In addition, Moscow expresses its desire to fully resume air communication with Tajikistan as soon as possible.
As you may recall, on May 19, Dushanbe hosts a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO CFM), currently chaired by the Republic of Tajikistan.
