Today, a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's Permanent Commission on Socio-Economic and Legal Affairs took place in St. Petersburg, chaired by Ruslan Kosygin, deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
Ruslan Kosygin noted that one of the most important matters on the agenda was the Parliamentary Assembly action plan for 2026, as well as a draft event program for the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Assembly.
The meeting participants reviewed the draft model law "On the Status of International Officials" developed by Artem Tsirin, the lead researcher at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Furthermore, the 2021-2025 Action Plan on the Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of CSTO Member States was reviewed and a draft of the new 2026-2030 Action Plan was presented.
"The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere. In particular, the CSTO PA priorities for the next five years were outlined. Such meetings at the Parliamentary Assembly allow us to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation and increase the effectiveness of socio-economic and legal activities within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization," Ruslan Kosygin pointed out.
