On November 28, Major-General Ruslan Mukambetov, Minister of Defence of the Kyrgyz Republic, held a meeting with the observer mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which is monitoring the preparation and conduct of elections to the Jogorku Kenesh.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the progress of preparations for the 2025 early parliamentary elections and discussed the arrangements made for the participation of Kyrgyz Defence Ministry servicemen in the voting.
The Minister of Defence pointed out that the security forces are ready to duly perform their duties, ensuring security, law and order at polling stations and adjacent areas. According to him, special attention is paid to preventing provocations and any actions that could destabilize the situation on election day.
As you may recall, a group of international observers was formed at the invitation of Nurlanbek Shakiev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh, at the decision of Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, to participate in monitoring the early elections scheduled for November 30.
