At the CSTO heads of state meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the CSTO, Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, began his speech by congratulating the CSTO States on the 77th anniversary of the Great Victory.
“On May 9, thousands of people marched through Kyrgyzstan as part of the Immortal Regiment under the slogans ‘Eternal glory to the heroes’ and ‘No one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten.’ Kyrgyzstan cherishes and honours the triumph of the Soviet people over Nazism and fascism and always pays tribute to the heroic feat of our forefathers and fathers,” the President of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed.
Sadyr Japarov extended his congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and emphasized: “Today we fully support the adoption of a political statement timed to coincide with these two historic dates.” He noted that international events of recent years “confirm the rightness of the aforementioned strategic decisions to ensure common and collective security from Brest to Vladivostok.” “I note with satisfaction that over the period of its existence the Collective Security Treaty Organization has been fulfilling its important mission, developing institutionally and building its capacity. In this regard, I would like to thank Secretary General Stanislav Zas, all his predecessors and the staff of the CSTO Secretariat for their dedicated service in the interests of the Member States,” the President of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
