St. Petersburg: the Focal Point for Interparliamentary Dialogue
On May 27, Russia’s northern capital celebrates its 323rd anniversary.
For the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the city on the Neva holds special significance. There, within the historic walls of the Tavrichesky Palace, the Assembly’s headquarters are located.
For many years, St. Petersburg has served as a reliable platform for hosting key events for interparliamentary cooperation among CSTO Member States.
"The unique atmosphere of St. Petersburg, where a rich historical heritage and modern trends harmoniously intertwine, makes it the perfect place for constructive international dialogue and the strengthening of allied relations," noted Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA.
Today, St. Petersburg rightfully holds the status of one of the leading centers of international diplomacy and Eurasian integration. The high level of event organization and all-round support from the city’s leadership enable parliamentarians from CSTO Member States to effectively address the challenges of ensuring regional security, harmonizing national legislation and countering modern challenges.
