On August 2, paratroopers of the armies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Airborne Forces.
Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, congratulated everyone celebrating Airborne Forces Day and the 95th anniversary of the Special Operations Forces.
"During the Great Patriotic War and in peacetime, the blue berets honorably fulfilled their military duty, including international duty, and kept their sacred oath and loyalty to their people," Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
Acting Commander of the Russian Airborne Forces Major-General Sergei Chubarykin conferred state awards and decorations from the Ministry of Defence on distinguished command officers, as well as presented them with a letter of gratitude from Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the CSTO PA, noted that paratroopers faithfully preserve the best traditions of combat brotherhood.
"I'd like to congratulate the personnel and veterans of the Airborne Forces on their professional holiday. The paratroopers faithfully preserve the best traditions of combat brotherhood, firmly defend national interests, ensure the defence capability and security of Russia and the peaceful life of our citizens," Vyacheslav Volodin said, according to the State Duma website.
Airborne Forces Day is a professional holiday of active and reserve Airborne troops. This holiday was established in 1930 in the USSR. It is celebrated annually on August 2.
