CSTO PA Secretariat Holds Thematic Lectures at Universities of Kyrgyzstan
At the initiative of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) is holding thematic lectures for teachers and students of several universities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The lectures are organized within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the CSTO in 2025.
On April 21, an open lecture on the topic "CSTO PA: Legal Response to Challenges and Threats for Collective Security" was held at the Boris Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. Shabdanbek Alishev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh to the CSTO PA, was the key speaker at the event.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the scientific and analytical potential and legal response instruments within the CSTO.
"We live in an era of new challenges – from hybrid threats to information pressure and cybersecurity. It is particularly important for young people to understand the processes taking place in the region and the world, so that they can assess risks. Involving universities, scientific and legal institutions is the key to strengthening sovereignty and developing the collective security mechanisms," Shabdanbek Alishev noted.
According to Alishev, the matter of destructive influence of radical ideologies is of extreme importance, including the influence on young people, since they are one of the most vulnerable groups of civil society.
The open lecture was the first in a series of events to take place from April 21 to 30 in a number of leading universities of the Kyrgyz Republic, including universities of Bishkek, Osh, Naryn, Karakol and other regions.
