Sergei Khomenko has been appointed Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO.
Sergei Khomenko served as Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus from October 18, 2021, to April 22, 2024, and is a former deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
On June 30, 2014, Sergei Khomenko was awarded the military rank of Major-General.
Starting October 7, Sergei Khomenko will represent the Belarusian Parliament in the IPA CIS and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. His main tasks will include protecting the interests of Belarus within these organizations and improving coordination between member states.
Sergei Khomenko has vast experience in the field of security. His appointment is aimed at further strengthening the cooperation between the Belarusian Parliament and its partners in the CSTO and the IPA CIS.
