The Collective Security Treaty Organization’s actions in Kazakhstan testify to the organization’s maturity and reliability, said Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in his speech at today’s Government Hour in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. This is reported on the website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. “The CSTO peacekeeping forces’ effective actions in assisting Kazakhstan in stabilizing the internal political situation after the mass attacks on the Kazakh state supported from outside have become a clear indication of the maturity and high reliability of this organization,” stressed the Russian Foreign Minister.
According to Sergei Lavrov, the strengthening of the CSTO continues.
“We are strengthening interaction with our CSTO allies in order to respond effectively to common threats and challenges amid the very uncertain prospects of the situation in Afghanistan, among other things,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During his address at the State Duma, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed that “in any case, everyone should proceed from the fact that the security of Russia and its citizens is an absolute priority, and it will be reliably ensured under any circumstances.”
Sergei Lavrov also said that the US and its European allies redouble their efforts to contain Russia. “Recently, the US and its European allies, having thoroughly forgotten the culture of diplomacy, redouble their efforts to contain our country,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.
“The President of the Russian Federation has repeatedly spoken about the situation in the international arena and our foreign policy tasks and initiatives. He has set all the principal points recently during the extended meetings of the collegiums of our Ministry and the Ministry of Defence, in other speeches and press conferences. Profound changes are taking place in the international arena, changes that are not entirely positive, to put it mildly. The entire system is feverish,” said Sergei Lavrov.
He also said that the states of the so-called historical West are still not ready to accept the realities of the emerging multipolar world that should be more just and democratic than a one-state world.
