Sergei Shoigu: Russia Will Help CSTO Allies in Fight Against Terrorism
The primary task of the Russian Defence Ministry is the fight against terrorism and assistance to CSTO allies, Sergei Shoigu, Russian Defence Minister, said at the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security.
“Despite the difficult situation in Europe, the fight against terrorism and assistance to Russian allies remains the primary task of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. Such support, as before, will include personnel education, joint exercises, training of troops and supply of weapons and military equipment,” Sergei Shoigu said.
The Moscow International Security Conference is being held for the 11th time, with more than 800 people from 76 countries having gathered in the town of Kubinka near Moscow. The event was opened by Vladimir Putin’s video address to the participants. “We see how consistently a multipolar world is forming. Most states are ready to defend their sovereignty and national interests, traditions, culture and way of life,” the Russian leader emphasized.
