Military policemen of the Russian military base in the Kyrgyz Republic conducted first aid training for high-school students of Kant high school.
According to the press service of the Central Military District of the Russian Defence Ministry, the servicemen told students how to classify injuries and provide effective first aid to the injured. The focus of the training was on actions in case of bleedings and fractures.
Each student, supervised by Russian servicemen, practiced placing a splint and stopping arterial and venous bleeding. In addition, the students were told what to do if they feel unwell in hot weather.
At the end of the lesson the military policemen conducted a quick test of students’ knowledge of haemostatic bandage markings and the frequency of its replacement, depending on the temperature conditions.
The lesson was held at the request of the school faculty who contacted the base command asking assistance.
The Russian joint military base Kant is an air component of the Collective Rapid Deployment Force. It takes part in ensuring security of the airspace of the CSTO Member States. The air base is equipped with Sukhoi Su-25 attack aircraft and Mil Mi-8MTV helicopters.
