The Council of CIS Heads of State adopted a protocol decision on granting the Commonwealth of Independent States observer status at the CSTO

A protocol decision on granting the Commonwealth of Independent States an observer status at the Collective Security Treaty Organization has been signed today, October 14, during a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Astana, reports the Kremlin.ru.

Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, took part in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.
The meeting was chaired by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The summit adopted a package of 18 documents.
