The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus has ratified the CSTO agreements signed in Dushanbe in 2021

The eighth session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation has approved a draft law On Ratification of the Agreement on Joint Material, Technical and Medical Support of the Troops (Collective Forces) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and On Ratification of the Agreement on Jurisdiction and Legal Assistance in Cases Relating to the Temporary Presence of Forces and Assets of the Collective Security System on the Territories of the CSTO Member States, BELTA informs.
According to the accompanying documents to the drafts of the agreements that were signed at a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Dushanbe on September 16, 2021, the draft laws have been prepared with a view to express the consent of the Republic of Belarus to be bound by the Agreement on Joint Material, Technical and Medical Support of the Troops (Collective Forces) of the CSTO; to create an effective mechanism for implementing the Agreement on the Status of Forces and Assets of the CSTO Collective Security System and the Agreement on the Procedure for the Formation and Operation of Forces and Assets of the CSTO Collective Security; and to expand the legal framework governing the temporary presence of forces and assets of the collective security system on the territories of the CSTO Member States.
