On the margins of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including preparations for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s official visit to the Russian Federation in April this year and several other events marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This is reported in an official statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Dear Ararat, I am happy to meet with you and to have an opportunity to exchange opinions on all issues on our agenda as part of the preparations for a visit of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to the Russian Federation that will take place in early April. I am sure that the visit will serve to advance our allied relations,” Sergei Lavrov stressed.
“No matter how much you talk on the phone, such in-person discussions are very important, and we have not seen each other for a long time; many things have accumulated, we should go over the items on the bilateral agenda as well, discuss the newly appeared issues and consult each other, if you do not mind,” said Ararat Mirzoyan in turn.
“An exchange of views on regional issues took place. The ministers confirmed our countries’ focus on the consistent implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, and discussed steps to further stabilize the situation in the Transcaucasus.
Approaches to promoting cooperation in common integration associations, including the CSTO, EAEU and CIS were compared. The Armenian party, which presides in the CSTO, informed of the plans to improve the Organization’s work,” reads the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
